Mike Riley, QKA®

Mike brings more than 20 years of financial services experience, beginning his career as a pension consultant in 2003. Over that time, he has worked closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and their families to design, implement, and maintain corporate retirement plans that support both business goals and personal financial legacies.

Mike is a Qualified 401(k) Administrator® (QKA®) as certified by the American Society for Pension Professionals and Actuaries, enabling him to thoughtfully tailor retirement plans to suit each client’s needs, balancing growth, talent retention, tax efficiency, cost control, and compliance. While the qualified plan space has become increasingly technical, Mike remains grounded in service and relationships, taking the time to help plan sponsors and participants make informed decisions with confidence.

Mike is known for quarterbacking complex retirement plan challenges, anticipating obstacles, answering questions thoroughly, and drawing on a trusted network of industry experts when needed to keep matters moving forward. His experience across compliance, investments, products, and plan provisions helps sponsors meet their responsibilities while maximizing the value of their plans.

Before joining Legacy, Mike served as Director of Retirement Plan Services for a leading national wealth advisory firm serving small to midsize business owners and their employees. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Plan Consultant and Regional Relationship Manager for the nation’s largest third-party administrator, where he helped lead a specialized Cash Balance Combo Plan program for professional groups.

Mike lives in Baltimore with his wife, Heather, an artist and educator. In his spare time, he has written and illustrated more than 20 books. Together, they remain active in the arts and independent publishing communities.
